A BBA is a three-year undergraduate program that teaches students how to be professional managers and entrepreneurs. It’s a professional degree like BE, MBBS, or CA. A BBA program can be taken by students from all academic backgrounds, and they can select from several specializations like Marketing, Sales, Banking, Finance, HR, Logistics, International Business, Entrepreneurship, etc.
Some of the important BBA entrance exams like SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test), NPAT (NMIMS Program After Twelfth), Christ University Test, XET (Xavier’s Entrance Test), AIMA-UGAT (All India Management Association – Under Graduate Aptitude Test), CUET-UG (Common University Entrance Test – Under Graduate), etc. are conducted in India to offer a comprehensive understanding of business and management concepts. Similar to BBA, some colleges and universities offer BMS, BBM, and BBS degrees. There’s virtually no difference between the BBA, BBM, BBS & BMS degrees. They are the same courses provided by different institutions under different nomenclatures.
The selection process varies from college to college depending upon the exams they undertake. Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Visual Reasoning, GK/Current affairs, etc. are often the primary areas of BBA entrance tests. The selection process may include a Personal Interview (PI) and Group Discussion (GD) in addition to the entrance test. After BBA, students can take up entry-level jobs in the industry or entrepreneurship or pursue MBA from premier institutes like IIMs, MDI, FMS, XLRI, etc.
