As the demand for hospitality services is increasing day by day, the hotel industry is emerging as a dynamic and thriving sector that presents many prospects for growth and improvement. Hotel management exams are conducted by various impressive institutes such as National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Indian Institute for hotel management (IIHM), etc.
NCHMCT JEE (conducted by NTA- National Testing Agency), MAH-CET/HM-CET (conducted by State Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra), IIHM e-CHAT (conducted by IIHM- International Institute of Hotel Management), etc. are some of the top exams for hotel management. The NCHMCT JEE is generally conducted in the last week of April and has eligibility criteria of 10+2 compulsory education & 22 years/ 25 years age for OPEN, OBC/ SC, ST respectively (with English mandatory). NCHMCT JEE follows a negative marking scheme where 4 marks are for every correct attempt and 1 mark is deducted for every wrong attempt.
The MAH CET/ HM CET is mainly held in May whereas the IIHM e-CHAT is generally held in the 2nd week of May. The eligibility criteria vary from exam to exam. MAH CET/ HM CET constitutes no negative marking scheme. Oberoi STEP, IHM Aurangabad, etc. are some of the entrance tests for Hotel Management one can take into consideration. The exam constitutes questions mainly on subjects like Quantitative Techniques, Data Interpretation, Logical/Critical/Analytical Reasoning, English Language, Current Affairs with General Awareness, and Service Sector Aptitude.
