IPMAT is a national-level entrance exam for students willing to pursue careers in the business and management field. Offered by 5 IIMs and some reputed management institutes, IPM is a dual-degree combination of a Bachelor’s degree (BBA) and a Master’s degree (MBA). It is a 5-year program constituting of 15 terms, with each year comprising 3 terms. One can plan to take up IPMAT after XII. IPMAT syllabus generally consists of sections such as Verbal Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, etc. IPMAT follows a negative marking scheme where 4 marks are assigned to every correct answer and 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect attempt.
IIM Indore IPMAT scores are accepted by many acclaimed institutes like IIM Ranchi, Nirma University Ahmedabad, Kakinada, TAPMI Bengaluru, Alliance University Bengaluru, NICMAR University Pune, NALSAR Hyderabad, etc. IIM Rohtak conducts its own IPM Aptitude Test whereas, IIM Bodhgaya and IIM Jammu jointly conduct JIPMAT (Joint Integrated Program in Management Admission Test). In addition to this, IIM Nagpur has announced a unique BBA+MBA program in association with HCL Technologies.
The shortlisted students appear for Written Aptitude Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). Factors such as academic performance, extra-curricular activities, etc. are also taken into consideration during the selection process. In addition to IPMAT, one can also attempt entrance exams such as SET, NPAT, Christ University Test, Xavier’s Entrance Test, AIMA-UGAT, and CUET.
